Five years ago, my shy daughter, bravely decided she would like to try theater camp. We enrolled her in the Krueger camp and it was one of the best parenting decisions we could have made. The Krueger's provide a sense of community within the camp, where every child is given the tools to be their very best selves. I have watched my daughter blossom on stage. She is confident, persistent, driven, and not afraid to share her voice. The Kruegers created an environment that highlighted her strengths and gave her the ability to soar both on and off the stage.
Four years ago, my not-so-shy son, joined the Krueger camp and has flourished. The Kruegers nurture a sense of belonging that allows him to shine.
The Krueger camp has become a staple of our summer. Every summer I know that five things will be true.
(1) I know that the first day of camp my kids will be up well before their alarms in anticipation of seeing their theater family.
(2) I know the show will be amazing and everyone will say “I can’t believe they put this on in less than three week.
(3) I know the last day will be filled with tears.
(4) I know the day after the last show will begin a ten month long discussion regarding the next summer camp production .
(5) I know I will end my summer knowing I made the perfect summer camp choice.
My time at the Krueger camp has been nothing but a joy. The cast always feel like family and I have met some of my closest friends at camp. The shows are always very professional and well organized. The environment never feels hostile. The Krueger camp has always felt like a second home in the summer months and I look forward to attending every year.

Ms. Lisa & Mr. Ciaran were instrumental in fostering my passion for musical theatre. As a former camper of 4 years, they taught me countless fundamental theatre skills while always creating a respectful, inclusive, and fun environment. They both became a constant encouraging presence throughout my life and have helped me kick start my career goals by working alongside them as a choreographer for two summers. I’m forever grateful for their guidance, and I highly recommend their camp to any child!!

My two daughters grew up attending summer theater camp with Lisa and Ciaran. They both looked forward to those three weeks all year long. My older daughter began the camp first. She has Down Syndrome and another local theater company for kids did not treat her kindly. Lisa and Ciaran took her in and from Day 1 she was a part of the group - like any other camper. She had roles, she had a line in a show, and the overall energy of the camp focused on inclusion and kindness. The other kids treated her like any other friend and it meant more to me than I can say. My second daughter then joined and became an important part of each cast. She LOVED those three weeks every year! She went on to volunteer as an assistant to Lisa and Ciaran in the younger camp for years. My girls learned important theater, music, and dancing skills as well as skills about being part of a team and supporting all of the other players in the cast. Each year it always amazed me how in three short weeks Lisa and Ciaran were able to create an incredible, precise, and demanding production with a large group of kiddos while maintaining an environment of fun and laughter!!!!! I recommend any program they run with all of my heart!!!!

Growing up, the summer theatre camps run by the Kruegers were truly the highlight of my year. They created an environment where kids learned the foundation of theatre, the magic of working together to put on a show. We got to experience the joy of creating a world onstage together, and in the process we learned communication, confidence, empathy, and responsibility.
The theatre skills and life skills I learned there stayed with me long after. They shaped who I am and fueled a passion for the performing arts that I still carry today. Those camps weren’t just a summer activity. They were formative, they were inspiring, and they made a lasting impact on my life.

I had the joy of spending three summers doing theatre camps with Ms. Lisa and Mr. Ciaran, and those experiences remain some of my fondest memories of my middle school and high school years. They created such a positive and welcoming environment where every child felt seen and valued. No matter what role you were cast in, they made each camp and show exciting, encouraging, and full of creativity. Their passion for theatre and for nurturing young performers truly made every summer something to look forward to.
If your child has been part of our program and you or your student would like to share an accolade or photo, please feel free to email Ms. Lisa at lisa@youngactorstw.org . Thank you!
